A Special Education Teacher is needed for a K-12 school in San Marcos, TX, providing vital educational support within a Resource Inclusion classroom serving grades 3-7. This contract position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, focusing on push-in and pull-out services for approximately 27 students. The role emphasizes creating and updating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and requires participation in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver push-in and pull-out special education services tailored to individual student needs
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs, including crafting Present Levels of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) statements
- Attend and actively contribute to ARD committee meetings to ensure compliance and the best educational outcomes
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusive learning environments
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Department of Education Special Education teaching license
- Core Subjects 3-7 endorsements required
- Proven experience with ARD processes and comfort in participating in meetings
